Let's Talk

http://myachillesrupture.com - I've been thinking about different ways to build a community around anyone who has suffered an Achilles Tendon Rupture. Support is critical as you go through the healing process of this injury. Many people cannot identify with it and that can be tough for the person living with this change in their life. I thought it could be an interesting idea to call people (in the US) on the phone OR participate in a skype session with anyone international or even in the US if you desire that option.

Wherever I can help in this process is something I would be glad to do.

Let's talk.

Scar/Calf Images, 14 months later

http://myachillesrupture.com - Someone recently asked me how my Achilles Tendon rupture surgical repair scar looked after 14 months from the injury date. Keep in mind that I am not in the business of modeling my legs. LOL! I was also asked if my calf muscle returned to a comparable size as the unaffected leg.

Let me know if you have any questions, but the pictures are the proof. :)

The Strassburg Sock

http://myachillesrupture.com - Recently saw an interesting product known as The Strassburg Sock (http://www.thesock.com/) that is a low-cost solution for providing effective relief from plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis and tight calves. I don't use nor have I ever used this product, but found it to be interesting and could see how someone may find it to be effective in certain situations.

During my Achilles Tendon rupture recovery and subsequent physical therapy, the fascia (underside of the foot) was VERY sore from being immobilized for so long. I used a roller to help loosen mine up. That, along with PT massage/manipulation helped me very much.

Have you used The Strassburg Sock? I'd love to hear about it.
